Crystall & Armstrong
CRYSTALL & ARMSTRONG was a Maryborough-based partnership of CH CRYSTALL and HG ARMSTRONG as builders, contractors, carpenters and joiners from 1885 until 1911, one of several distinguished firms there during this time. The partners also offered to provide plans and estimates ‘gratis’. At Maryborough, their designs included the Albert Skating Rink, a gardener’s lodge at the Girls’ Grammar School and various shops. Amongst their contracts were COUTTS & HAMILTON’s Agriculture Hall at the Showgrounds, HALL & DODS’ Town Hall and Victor CARANDINI’s additions to the Boys Grammar School. At Gympie, they built the Brewery and Freemasons Hotel for WP HAYS. After the partnership was dissolved in October 1911, Crystall worked as an architect.
