Blacket Bros

BLACKET BROS, was a Sydney-based partnership of the brothers Cyril and Arthur BLACKET formed after the death of their father, ET BLACKET in February 1883. After illness forced Cyril’s partial retirement from 1st January 1886, the practice was conducted solely by Arthur until formally dissolved on 17th November when the practice was continued by Arthur, in his own name or as Blacket Bros. The firm’s commission for St James’ Cathedral, Townsville, was carried out by Arthur. Cyril may later have rejoined the practice and after Arthur retired, continued to practice in Sydney until c1925 including restoration of St James Cathedral following cyclone Leonta in 1903.
